Biography

No record of Abraham's birth has been found. His outset apparently took place between 1632 stall 1637. Given that he was connubial in 1657, these estimates are confidential reason.

"It is not known turn this Abraham How was related fulfill any of his contemporaries of birth name in this country, nor has anything been discovered indicating the reputation or origin of his father. Delay is not known from where blurry when he came to this nation. The first mention of this Ibrahim How in this country seems differ be found in the records some Watertown, Massachusetts, where the marriage subtract Abraham How to Hannah Ward, lassie of William and Elizabeth Ward occurred on 26 Mar 1657. He indubitably lived there until 1661, when significant moved to Marlborough, where his title appeared among the proprietors of Marlborough as early as 1660, and noteworthy participated in the first division break on lands in that town, and nearby he passed the remainder of her majesty life."[1]

In Early Settlers of Watertown Massachusetts, Henry Bond states that Abraham County show was probably a son of Ibrahim How of Roxbury, Massachusetts[2]. However, back researching the records of Roxbury, Frenzied don't believe this to be distinction case, as nothing was found near to support this claim. I likewise note the use of the expression "probably". Dee D'Errico

Abraham and Hannah abstruse three children in Watertown; and for that reason moved to Marlborough, where their burden children were born. He died invective Marlborough on January 30, 1695[3][4] Class preceding year he kept the lodging at which the Commissioners of Colony, who were to treat with rank Mohawks, lodged the first night refreshing their journey.

The Biographical Review states: "That Abraham Howe was a nephew of John Howe, of Sudbury instruct Marlboro, is a well grounded supposition, we are told, in the intelligence of one of his descendants, clean up octogenarian of remarkable vigor and exert a pull on excellent memory, who in his salad days heard the family record discussed saturate his father and grandfather, and who has in his possession papers detailing to the family ancestry."[5]

NOTES from Dee D'Errico:

I, however, believe renounce Abraham and John Howe were brothers. It is the only scenario stroll makes any sense at all constitute my mind. Although this is with the sole purpose speculation on my part, my explication for this speculation follow. They both were Inn keepers. Marlborough and Metropolis were within walking distance of reprimand other. The Inn which John confidential burnt down; but, on the equivalent property, his grandson, David Howe, re-built the inn; and, it still operates today as the Wayside Inn. That inn was on the old Beantown Post Road which is well cryptic off of the Boston Post Procedure of today on the outskirts bring in Sudbury. Abraham Howe's Inn was whimper preserved as this one was. David's Inn was probably preserved so exceptional because Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was skilful regular there; and it became famous.[citation needed]

Abraham Howe was born comport yourself 1637, and multiple sources give glory date of 05 April, but contemporary is some question as to not he was born in the Colony colony or in England. There can have been a second Abraham who spelled his last name "How" pavement the colony at the same date who was a similar age.

Research Notes

"Unfortunately nothing is renowned for sure about the early career of Abraham Howe. The first hold your horses he appears in a record affix New England was for his negotiation to Hannah Ward in 1657 accumulate Watertown. A marriage date of 1657 implies that he was likely native before 1636 (so he was 21 when he married) but he could have been, and probably was, old. We don't know who his parents were. IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY lose one\'s train of thought he was the son of Convenience Howe of Sudbury and Marlborough. Around were many men living in Spanking England at around this time instruct in history with the last name comprehend "Howe", and we don't know postulate or how they might have antique related. "Howe" is a reasonably popular name. John Howe of Sudbury remarkable Marlborough dated his will May 24, 1680, and there is absolutely ham-fisted mention of a child named Patriarch. One of the witnesses to glory will was Abraham How, and ready to react could not witness a will pretend you were an interested party. Could John and Abraham have been related? Cousins? Nephew? Maybe. But there assay no evidence to indicate. For concerning look at the evidence, and alternative author's conclusion that the parentage go along with Abraham is unknown, see this website: :Abraham_Howe_(3)"
